On January 14, 2005, my best friend went
to heaven, with Doe (my Mom) waiting for her. I don't know who misses
her more, Oopie or me.
Abbey is the reason that Clearfire exists.
If she wasn't such an extraordinary dog, I probably would have never
started breeding.
Abbey was my very first Aussie. She taught
me a lot about the breed and life. She has been through everything with
me for the last 12 1/2 years. For everyone that has ever met Abbey (Bag,
Dab Do, Mickey Mouse) she left an impression on everyone she met.
Abbey is the dog that started it all for
Clearfire and I would like to thank Tammy Stevens for the foundation
bitch of Clearfire. Born in 1992, Abbey won many awards and accomplished
many things, including:
- Championship - Abbey finished
her championship in May of 1994 with a Group 2nd. Abbey was the first
Australian Shepherd to place in Group in Atlantic Canada.
- Canine Good Citizen -
In August of 1996, the local newspaper (the Telegraph Journal) featured
an article about the Canine Good Citizen program which included a
photo of Abbey and her owner, Jacqueline.
- Temperament Test - Abbey
passed her temperament test in June of 1998. Abbey gave the spectators
a laugh when she took a nip at the umbrella.
- CD - In July of 1998,
Abbey and Edith Cassidy the CD in one weekend of trials.
- Team Obedience - During
the August, 2000,
New Brunswick Kennel Club show, Abbey was a part of the Tail-less
Wonders in Team Obedience.
- CDX - In September of
2000, Abbey achieved one leg of her CDX, with the help of Rita Boyd,
with a score of 180.

You don't have to put on a brave front anymore.
You are at peace.
Someday we will be together again.
GOODBYE MY FRIEND
